February 13, 2025 - Red Jar Energy Partners (RJEP) is pleased to announce the signing of a multi-year Cooperation Agreement (the “Partnership”) with the Mississaugas of the Credit Business Corporation (MCBC) to develop power and energy Projects within the traditional treaty lands of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation (MCFN).
This unique partnership combines RJEP’s deep expertise in power and energy project development, corporate and project finance, and deal structuring with MCBC’s ability to accelerate regulatory and permitting processes and attract low-cost project capital, while honouring and respecting the traditional treaty lands of the MCFN. RJEP and MCBC will focus on developing Projects at scale for the benefit of all Ontarians, while delivering on economic reconciliation for the people of the MCFN through the realization of long term and predictable cash flows.
The Partnership will target both large-scale generation and customer demand opportunities, such as data centres and major industrial manufacturing operations. Once a specific opportunity is identified and qualified, RJEP and MCFN will exclusively partner to deliver Impactful Energy Infrastructure. The first Project being developed under the Partnership is the Niagara Power Corridor, a critical transmission line designed to power the new Asahi Kasei Battery Separator Plant in Port Colborne and support the broader growing electricity needs of the South Niagara Region.
